I’m a fan of Sayers Sister so today’s brunch excursion was to check out its namesake, the original Sayers Food.
Like its sister, Sayers was buzzing with customers, a long line of people waiting to get in to eat, but we managed to get a table for three on the street quite easily.
I ordered the smoked salmon, feta scrambled eggs & asparagus tartlet with a side of sourdough ($19) , it was lovely. The egg was a bit salty at first, but when I mixed it together the salty flavour subsided. Sayers coffee is wonderful too – strong, but not bitter. L’s maple & cumin sweet potato, ricotta & pine nut crepe, rocket & yoghurt salad, poached eggs and sweet potato crisps ($17.50) dish looked amazing – I’ll be ordering that one next time. F enjoyed her full breakfast too ($22).
Will be back for sure to try that crepe!
