If you’re looking for good coffee in Nedlands, Boubar is your friend. The funky little cafe on Hampden Road was bustling, even at 8am on a Sunday morning – doesn’t anyone sleep in these days?
Exposed brick and large mirrors give the small, but quirky cafe a welcoming feel. My university friend (from back in my juvenile days) L & I met up for an early breakfast and snagged a table for two on the street so we could enjoy the sunshine.
I went with the Omelette Special; chorizo, roasted pumpkin, tomato and cheese ($15.50). When I think omelette I think fluffy, light and stuffed with a tasty filling, and Boubar’s hit the mark. The omelette was thick and flavoursome and the filling was lovely and delicate. Who knew pumpkin went so well with egg?
L went with the Avocado, Tomato and Feta on Toast ($14) and she found the dish to be very light and tasty.
But the best part of brunch had to be the coffee. It was fantastic. Because I only work two minutes from the cafe and they are open at 7am, I’ll pop by for a pre-work Soy Latte ($4.60) for sure.
What did you eat for breakfast today?
