Brunch Club: The Crooked Fork, Applecross

When I heard Vic Park’s Crooked Fork Cafe had a new big sister opening up in Applecross I couldn’t wait to try it. The original Crooked Fork is a tiny little spot, perfect for a quick coffee in the sunshine – but the Applecross store is so much more!

Tucked away on Canning Highway, The Crooked Food boasts a quaint little courtyard to enjoy your coffee in the sunshine and snappily dressed waitstaff. Our waiter was rocking a fabulous red bow tie and looked very slick.

I find whenever I go to breakfast with my Nanna she will copy exactly what I order, and today was no different! I went with the Chorizo Your Own Adventure (probably because of the kooky name) with a side of mushrooms. Scrambled eggs, chorizo, fresh baby spinach and thick cut toast, it was a simple yet scrumptious feast. Nanna was also very impressed and raved about her breakfast well after we left the cafe. Little Sister opted for one of their very healthy sounding chicken and quinoa salads – it was exactly what she needed after a big weekend! Detox.

Like the Vic Park store, the coffee was brilliant, served in cute as a button red rubber encased glasses that I was desperate to take home with me – they was just so cute!

Service wonderful, food delicious. What more do you want.

What is your ‘detox’ meal?
