Painful wisdom teeth could not hold me back from attending the Aaron McPolin Collective “Art Meets Fashion” launch at Bayview Centre Thursday night. Dosed up on painkillers and sporting bright red lipstick I joined the media, Perth bloggers, artists and fashionistas for a night of live fashion photography, opulent garments and quirky artwork.

I’ve been lucky enough to witness fashion shoots in the past, but this was something else. Aaron oozes creative passion and the clothing by Atlas Divine styled by Holly Reedman and Alex Shaw just popped. The models looked exquisite, and who doesn’t enjoy watching pretty girls do their thing!

The exhibit also featured works by Kim Behets, Hayley Welsh, Liam Dee and Mekel (a personal favourite), and the space was a creative haven. I love the idea of artist collaborations. Creative folk should get together more often. And I believe fashion is art, and being invited to an event that mixed the two made this femme very happy.
