Things always smell, taste, feel and look better when they are free, or gifted in this case. My lovely friend S gave me some lip products recently because unfortunately they didn’t suit her skin tone. It was my lucky day, and I welcomed a fabulous Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturising Lip Colour Balm to my collection.
Mango and shea butter based, the Chubby Sticks ($35) are extremely moisturising (like regular lip balm), but tinted with a subtle, shimmering colour, giving them a more glamorous look. The balm slides on quite easily without that sticky feel. This particular balm has a pale pink shine, but enough colour to actually pop on my lips. Unlike regular lip balm, the Clinique Chubby Stick holds its colour, and is more lipstick than gloss.
Like all Clinique products, you expect quality and that is exactly what I’ve found. I’ve been wearing it to work on a regular basis as the colour is strong, but not too over the top for the hospital. It’s also simple to reapply, no mirror required.
I really do love Clinique’s packaging, enough to create a “photo shoot” for my lip balm. The simple pink and silver is very feminine and chic. To be honest the pink and silver colour combination always makes me think of Barbie. A nineties childhood flashback is always much appreciated!
What is your favourite lip balm?

PS – Thanks again S! x
Cute PHOTOSHOOT….like the bit about the Barbie flashbacks.
Thanks T! I thought it deserved its own shoot ahaha x
The only products I like from Clinique is the moisturizer and the face scrub … I didn’t try the chubby sticks though, bit I have read great things about them. I wonder if you have tried the Revlon lip stains, they seem similar
I’ve never tried the Revlon version, but I totally will. Thanks for the suggestion. I’m trying the scrub tonight actually haha!
Sure , let me know how it works for you … It’s a really nice scrub! Their 3 step system failed for me and caused me to break out, but scrub and moisturizer is really really nice !
I actually had a bit of a reaction to the clinque cleanser and moisturiser last so I’m going to have to stick to the brands I know ;(
Yikes 😕 I thought I was the only one not a fan of the brand
My skin is really sensitive so I have to be super careful! I’m still a fan of the lipstick, just got to be careful with what I put on my face haha
😊😊
If you like this, you should totally try the new Clinique Chubby stick Baby Tint. It comes in 4 shades and each one reacts to your lip colour so no shade looks the same on two people.
