A weekend away down south to my hometown is the perfect chance to relax, unwind and realign my mind and thoughts, and it is also the perfect chance to do a little bit of shopping with my Mum. And she’s the kind of mama who loves to buy us a little treat! As soon as I saw this floor length blue skirt at Target I had to have it! Blue is my favourite colour, and although I do own a few blue skirts, they are midi’s and this maxi was exactly what I needed in my wardrobe. It was a steal at $30 and it is so comfortable and swishy. The skirt features an elastic waistband and I was able to purchase a size 12 comfortably. My advice is if you’re buying this skirt go down a size, you want it to sit on your waist and not slide down! With a skirt so bright I stuck to a simple black singlet (also from Target and only $9), because I wanted the skirt to do the talking.
I’m forever flower obsessed and when I saw this daisy chain headband at Kmart recently I couldn’t walk past it. The combination of the flowing skirt and flower crown created a hippy vibe, which suited a stroll around Mum’s garden perfectly. I certainly had a “spring” in my step, if you know what I mean.
Besides playing in the garden, I spent the weekend with my beautiful family celebrating Dad’s birthday. We ate way too many delicious meals, Mum and I spent too much time in the sunshine on the back verandah chit chatting and drinking coffee, my sister and I decided it would be fun to try on our ball dresses from a million years ago, I helped my grandparents do a bit of gardening and ate beans fresh from the plant and I relaxed. Yes, Miss Head-all-over-the-place-a-million-miles-an-hour RELAXED. It’s just so good to get back to your roots. It’s a special feeling. And this outfit came home to the city with me – and that’s a huge plus.
Do you own a full length skirt? Any styling tips?

Aw thanks Claire!!! I love blue x
I am a bit lacking in the floor length skirt department at the moment, but yours is beautiful. Blue is also my favorite color.

Get into it Alex!
I have just fallen in love with maxi skirts. I have a fabulous Aztec print one from Rockmans that I love wearing. That blue looks fabulous and I love the daisy chain. Very cute outfit. 🙂
Aztec print sounds fab! I must have a look online. They are so easy to wear hey? Thanks so much x
Beautiful outfit! I love that skirt long time 🙂
Awwww thanks Jasmine. I’m a little bit obsessed with it right now! x
Looking gorgeous. Adore the colour. I’m super short and don’t own many full length skirts. I usually have to have them taken up and even then I just find they swamp me.
Perhaps you should try ASOS Petite hun, they are perfect for shorties! Thanks so much too 🙂 X
What a gorgeous outfit and I love the garden, too. It sounds like a heavenly weekend x
Thanks doll!! Mum’s garden is wild and beautiful, I love it too!
