Once upon a time there was a pair of jeans that served not one, but two booty’s. The first booty treated the jeans with TLC and never let itself increase in size to ruin the perfect pants. But when the first booty shrunk it was time for the jeans to meet booty number two – a bit of a jelly butt with many a curve. The funny thing is the second booty was a completely different shape to the first, yet the jeans fit them both as if they were made for them, and only them.
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants much, but when my little sister L passed on a beautiful pair of jeans I had no idea they’d suit my behind as much as they did hers! Yay! So what are the magical jeans like you ask? They are just a simple pair of high waisted skinnies from Jeans West! I don’t think I could survive Winter without a pair of jeans (or three), and this season is all about the high waisted skinny leg. Trend alert!
If you’re like me and have a few lumps and bumps in the tummy/thigh region, than this is the jean style for you. Guaranteed to hug your curves and hide that mini muffin top, a high waisted jean will create length and smooth down anything you’d rather not put on display. I always have an issue with regular jeans that sit on my hips – they fall down or don’t sit correctly, creating an extra roll on my belly! No one enjoys wearing unflattering garb, so of course I’ve converted to high waisted status! Thanks Little Sister!
Here are a few of my favourite styles for the AW15 season, all at an affordable, cheap and cheerful price of course! And trust me, you’ll be dancing in your (Harry high) pants in no time (without the muffin top)!
1. HIGH WAIST 3 BUTTON JEANS | ALLY FASHION | $39.99
2. MOTO SUPER RIPPED JAMIE JEANS | TOPSHOP | $86
3. LILY HIGH RISE ANKLE GRAZER | FOREVER NEW | $89.99
4. DARK BLUE HIGH WAISTED SUPER SKINNY | NEW LOOK | $44
Since the sun has still been around during the day I’ve been styling my Harry high pants with simple tee’s and flats, but as the nights cool down a little, out comes the leather jacket and ankle boots or vintage military style jacket. You can’t really stuff it up. Or if you’re feeling daring tuck in your top. I’m not sure if I’m mentally prepared enough for that one yet though!
