Trending: The Boyfriend Tee

A boyfriend is NOT necessarily required for this Autumn trend, but if you do have a bae perfecting this trend will simply require “borrowing” a tee from his wardrobe. And if you don’t have a man, it’s an excuse to go shopping! And that second answer sounds perfect to me. The “Boyfriend Tee” is pretty much the t-shirt version of a boyfriend shirt. Sloppy, comfortable but still chic and very on trend, an overside tee is a total staple! I love the rolled up sleeves and relaxed fit, making them perfect for all occasions. Dress them up with a great denim skirt and a leather jacket, or keep the look casual with basic jeans and canvas shoes. The styling options are endless!

Another reason I just love a BF tee is because comfort is a priority when I’m choosing my daily outfits. Yes, I want to look good (or decent on lazy days), but feeling comfy in whatever I wear is more important! My style is very one way or the other, so when I’m not living in girly dresses you’ll find me in a relaxed “tomboy” look. I don’t have a boyfriend to borrow from, so I stock up on casual cool tops at spots like Cotton On, Kmart and Big W (that is where you can find the BF tee I’m wearing in my snap)! I’m happy to admit they are a bit of a personal weekend uniform paired with black skinnies and whatever shoe takes my fancy. Here are my picks (and wish list) of the coolest boy tee’s out. Get shopping!

1. Zoe Karssen No Bad Days Cloud Tee @ The Hut ($140)

2. Smile Logo Boyfriend Tee – Simply Be ($22)

3. Rag & Bone “The Boyfriend” Tee @ The Outnet ($70)

4. Mink Pink Ditched The Boyfriend Tee @ Back Country ($38)

Are you a boyfriend tee kind of lady, or do you prefer a more figure hugging look? Why?

  1. I only wear fitted as bottom layers. Love a boyfriend tee. I have a boyfriend (well, the Welshman is my husband really) but I can’t wear his tees. Way too big!

My 11 year old son has actually borrowed (permanently) some of my T shirts and damn if he doesn’t look good in them!

    • Dang it Welshman! Doesn’t he know sharing is caring haha. Too cute you’ve got a clothes thief in Boyo. He’s def a stylish kid if he’s wearing your stuff xx
