What I Wore: Bloggers Bloom Together

JACKET: Cotton On, JEANS: Kmart Australia {similar here}, TEE: Cotton On, BOOTS: Kmart Australia, HAT: ASOS {similar here}, SCARF: Paddy’s Markets {similar here}, LIPSTICK: Sportsgirl “Berrylicious” Pout About It {exact match}

Um, Perth, where did the beautiful weather go? I can’t wear my favourite dresses in the rain. I don’t even own any stockings yet. And don’t even mention the fact none of my shoes are wet weather appropriate… Sigh. We were truly blessed with a large amount of sunshine this year, but when the chilly weather starts creeping in and you find yourself pulling out the jeans over your favourite floral dress it is a sign. Winter is coming. I’m more of a Summer fashion fan. It’s so much easier to throw on a dress. Winter fashion involves mixing and matching and layering. Challenge much! One thing I know though is a good pair of black skinny jeans go with just about everything and they’re definitely my winter staple.

This weekend saw a bunch of Perth bloggers catch up over coffee and amazing food at Babooshka Bar in Northbridge (more about that on the blog soon) so when bloggers get together a bit of post lunch modelling is to be expected. The background of this colour burst is a car park in the city. Every wall is covered in beautiful commissioned art work and you can’t turn the corner without a brand new picture to decipher. We actually decided to wander down a couple of alleyways to find more art, and I was surprised at how much effort the city has gone to to rejuvenate the blank walls. Amazing.

Back to this outfit. One of the perks of having a GF is the double wardrobe, and this wind breaking black anorak from Cotton On isn’t mine, but it may as well be. Thanks boo! I love the light material and it’s perfect for in between weather. Paired with simple stripes, booties from Kmart Australia and my favourite skull print scarf picked up at the Paddy’s Markets over east I was ready to take on the adventure of hosting a meet up. Scary! But so much fun. Accessories wise you’ve seen this ASOS bowler hat in the past, but it’s finally the right weather to rock it again! I love hats in windy weather, especially because my hair tends to going wild at the first chance of rain or wind. I’ve had this one for a while now, but there are plenty of great options online at ASOS, my online shopping haven.

Since dying my hair this vibrant pinky/purple/red-ish mix (my hair dresser is the bomb) I’ve been a little unsure about bright lipsticks – shock horror! If you know me you’ll know I live in lippy. Thank god for this Sportsgirl beauty. I felt a little bit “matchy” with my hair, but meh, I liked it. It’s long lasting, and although I did top up post lunching I only needed a small swipe to get me through the rest of the afternoon! Note to self: check out more lipstick next time I’m in Sportsgirl. Not that I need anymore.

Are you ready for wet weather fashion?
