When the lovely Jo of iCurvy blog fame contacted me back at the beginning of the month explaining her new monthly style challenge “Spin The Pin” I knew it had my name all over it. In Jo’s words…
“So what’s the idea? Each month I’ll be picking a Pinterest Image – an outfit for some inspiration. I’ll be posting my outfit, or my ‘Spin’ on the ‘Pin’ and opening up a link party for all of you to post your ‘spin’ on the outfit too!
You might be inspired by the colour palette, the pattern, the setting, the style, a particular item, or the whole outfit – how you put your spin on the pin is totally up to you! And I’d love for you to share it with me!”
You can play along too! All you have to do is draw inspo from Jo’s pin, tag her on Instagram (@iCurvy) and hashtag #spinthepin! And if you blog, link up!
Now here’s the first pin of the series!
Although I love the neutral based outfit I’m a messy piglet and never wear anything too light because guaranteed I’ll spill a coffee, drop food or leave some makeup behind. I love the one colour with textural pops but I had to go with a more Em version, and that is why I stuck to a black base and added colour and pattern pops to create dimension.
You may remember this Cotton On light weight jacket from a previous post, but I knew it’d be perfect for weekend adventures with my friend L. It’s the perfect “in between” jacket, light yet wind breaking. Paired with simple black skinnies, a pop of colour and sass in the leopard print scarf and the very “pinspired” floppy felt hat, I totally get the pins vibe, but I still feel like me! And don’t forget the red lips! I certainly don’t have the chic factor of the gorgeous lass in the pin, but this is definitely an outfit I’ll take out again.
Do you use Pinterest for daily inspiration?

Welcome to the party hun! I’m glad you like it. I wish I could pull off the crisp neutrals but I know I would mess it up! Xx
No I don’t use pinterest for daily inspiration,,,,,but you’ve done well by getting your inspiration there. Its a nice idea of Icurvy’s .
I think you’d love it T. Loads of quilting inspo!
Love your take on this look.. the leopard print against you hair look all kinds of awesome too! xx
Thanks so much love! I totally couldn’t pull off the neutral look, so leopard it was lol! x
What an awesome idea! Love your spin too! Leopard is always a good idea 😉
Xx
Thanks love! It’s such a fun challenge! ICurvy recently posted the next pin – man that’s a challenge! Haha.
Loving your spin on this challenge and the leopard print looks great !
Thanks Jules! I love a good fashion challenge. X
Totally giving Kristina a run for her money – I love your SPIN on the outfit. I’m messy too – I’ve always carried baby wipes. its much less weird to carry them now that i actually have a baby… but I swear they get anything out! I once spilled an entire cosmopolitan cocktail on a cream dress and baby wipes got it all out immediately!
I might have to start carrying them around too. No baby here, but if you did it pre kids I’m sure I won’t look so nutty! Thanks so much, I’m glad you liked my take! Bring on the next one x
