It’s once again time to Spin The Pin! What is she talking about you ask? Last month Jo from iCurvy launched an all new fashion challenge prompting bloggers and Instagram nuts to get creative in their wardrobe and take inspiration from the Pinterest image chosen for the month. May was all about base colour and layering (check out my post here), but this month Jo went for something very different – pastel power! Here’s the pin.

Sassy much! This outfit is a beautiful rainbow of colour and floaty femininity, but as soon as I saw the image and thought about my own wardrobe one dress came to mind. I hope you enjoy my “spin” on June’s pin. Since it’s Winter in Australia I made sure I packed my pin outfit in my suitcase for our tropical holiday to Vietnam! Thanks to my E for snapping me whilst on vaycay, I know it can be such a chore. Mind the sweat and lank hair, it was 33 degrees and 85% humidity!

I’ve had this dress for a few years now, but I can only remember wearing it a handful of times. I bought it online at Bank Fashion UK (now Ark) for under $20, instantly being drawn to the vibrant colour palette and cute tie up back. The bow also goes back to the pussy bow the sassy girl is wearing in the pin, except mine is on the back! Similar, hey? Haha. I don’t know why I haven’t worn this dress more often, I felt instantly happy when I put it on! Colour does that for me. It’s the easiest pick me up I’ve come across. And cheapest!

Now onto the shoes. These tan no brand sandals were purchased for a tiny $14 on the side of the road in MuiNe. I unfortunately suffered the loss of two pairs of shoes whilst on holiday and I had to buy some more or I’d be shoeless. I was so surprised they actually had my size, and I’m pretty sure these came from the “big tourist” section of the stall. I also found the coloured beaded necklace (worn as a bracelet) at a side of the road stall. This one was a meagre $5. I may have stopped by the next day to get one for my Mum too! My sweet Fashion Foundry bow earrings (another take on the pussy bow from the pin) are so delicate and perfect for any occasion, that I couldn’t not take them on vacation! They girly-up any outfit, and I’ll admit I’ve lived in them whilst on holiday. If you’re a fan of pretty things they’re currently on sale for a teeny $7! Use the code EMMA20 for even more of a discount on Fashion Foundry’s entire gorgeous range. Get shopping

A colour bursting outfit is not complete without bold lips. Another Vietnam purchase, this time at the Nha Trang Centre (a huge beachside shopping centre filled with luxe brands including LV), this Bourjois “Velvet” pink lip paint had to come home with me. This is my first time using the brand but I couldn’t be happier. The paint is long lasting and a great shine-free matte, similar to Lime Crime’s Velvetine range. Pity it is more expensive to buy in Australia. I’ll have to stock up on my next Asian adventure!

I can’t wait for Jo’s next prompt. If you’re keen – join in, or check out Jo’s take and the other bloggers playing along too (or #spinthepin on IG). You may find that burst of fashion inspiration you’re looking for.

What makes you instantly happy?
