What I Wore: Riding With The Wind

“I looked up at a golden sky, electric filled and it opened wide…”

TEE: Terms & Conditions via n3 Collective {exact match} | SKIRT: Big W {new in store} | SHOES: Betts For Her {exact match} | SUNGLASSES: eBay | BOATER HAT: Big W Australia {new in store} | LIPSTICK: Maybelline Colour Sensational Bold Matte in MAT6 Deep Red {exact match} | BAG: Kmart Australia

I live in t-shirts. Whether I’m throwing them on with jeans or tucking them into a skirt they are a go to for casual dressing. Finding the perfect tee can be tricky, especially if you sport a large chest like I do, and it can be a painful process finding the perfect top to fit comfortably across your breasts that still fits well across the rest of your top half. Enter the n3 Collective. The new to Perth online shopping destination is a place to find all the best local and international labels in one place. Bali based, n3 Collective is a merge of creative minds drawn together by their shared passions, forming an innovative and engaging platform.

A few months back I was invited to the Perth launch of the new shopping spot and couldn’t leave without picking up a new tee. It reads “Riding With The Wind” and that totally describes my life at present. So many things have been happening lately, so many things are upcoming that I’m really looking forward to and the new year is almost upon us which means new opportunities, new adventures and the time to make a few “resolutions” that I’ll probably stop thinking about a month in. But who is to say this coming year won’t be different? This year I only made one resolution, to be happy and live my life for me, and I can truly say this year has been amazing. From overseas travel to moving into our own new home to shiny new friendships to brilliant blog related stuff, this year has been ace. These pictures were taken in Denmark early last month, which was one of my favourite parts of the year. E & I headed down south to Denmark (more on the trip here) with our good friends C & S and it was just so perfect to relax, unwind and enjoy a slower pace for a couple of days. S was more than keen to take some blog snaps for me and isn’t she a bit of a camera pro? She also shot another shoot for me (more here) and I loved all the photographs she took. Pretty sure I’ve found a new blog photographer!

I couldn’t not share this tee since it’s one of the coolest items I’ve purchased as of late. I paired my t-shirt with a new season Big W polka dot skirt because I wanted to add a little bit of femininity to my casual tee. The skirt is comfortable, breezy and retro cute. I’m polka dot obsessed, almost as much as my love for stripes, and this is the third polka dot skirt I’ve purchased if I’m being completely honest with you guys. You can never have enough of them! Skirts are the best kind of piece in Summer as you can dress them up or down, throw them over bathing suits, pack away the pants and wear them at work and pretty much live in them in the sunshine months. Expect to see more skirts on the blog over the Summer, but if you need a little more skirt inspiration right now check out how I styled a denim skirt here, a midi skirt here and a maxi skirt here. Hopefully you’ll find the right style of skirt for you!

Keeping with the Kimba Likes “Style It Project” for November and December my new season Big W boater hat made another appearance on this particular afternoon. Perfect for keeping the sun off your face, and extremely cute, the boater has got to be my favourite accessory this season. If you don’t know what I mean when I say “Style It Project” let me explain. It’s a monthly fashion project created by blogger Kimba Likes, sharing how to’s on styling affordable, easily accessible seasonal pieces. I’ve been asked to “co-host” this time around and you can read more about it here. Tapping into Nikki from Styling You’s #everydaystyle hashtag, it’s a chance for women to share their own styling tips on the chosen items, in their own way! No rules! For more info on the project head over to Kimba’s blog now. So here is another way I’ve styled the boater friends!

I could have worn some sandals with this tee and skirt combo, but it had a bit of a “hipster” vibe about it so I continued the theme with a great pair of tan brogues from Betts Shoes. Fortunately I was gifted this pair of shoes at the Spring/Summer launch for Betts For Her and I’ve worn them on numerous occasions, normally with a skirt or dress. Even though they look great with jeans I love the feminine/masculine pairing, and I’m not looking forward to it getting too hot so soon as I want to keep wearing them.

Now to a fun Instagram competition that totally suits this slogan tee post. Thanks to Australian label Ruby & Lilli, Kimba and I have a slogan tee of your choice to give away. Simply pop over to my Instagram page (here), find the Style It Project snap and get following, commenting and tagging your friends. I love Ruby & Lilli (check out how I styled my own R&L tee here) and you could have your very own soon just in time for the festive season!

What is your favourite way to style a tee?

Ooooo I miss long hair when I see your lovely locks looking fab under that boater! And that tee is just perfect. Love the words and love how you’ve tucked it in your skirt. My favourite way to style a tee is probably with some comfy drop crotch pants, slightly tucked in at the front with a statement necklace too. xox
