WHAT I WORE: Autumn Denim {featuring Rockmans)

“When in doubt, wear denim…”

JEANS: Rockmans* {exact match} | KNIT: Lee Cooper for Big W {available in store} | HEELS: Kmart {similar here} | SUNGLASSES: Ally Fashion | NECKLACE: Sydney Markets

And like that, Summer is over! Hi Autumn! The sun is still out but its not been over 40 degrees this week so that is always a plus in my book. Fashion wise it is time to start incorporating trans seasonal pieces into your wardrobe to get ready for the immanent chill of Winter. But let’s not talk about that dreary time just now. I’m a huge Autumn fan. The days are cooler but the sun is still around so you can still head out and enjoy your days without an umbrella (most of the time)! The dresses are still in use (phew) but it’s time to start thinking about adding warmth, layers and new denim to your wardrobe.

Let’s talk about denim. When well known label Rockmans contacted me recently for a bit of a collaboration featuring their new “Denim Style Guide” I jumped at the chance. Rockmans is pretty iconic! Sourcing the globe for the latest trends, Rockmans delivers Australian women the latest looks and must-have fashion items at unexpected prices. Renowned for affordable fashion, they are proud of their on-trend, quality and great fit garments at the prices they offer. With new styles arriving in store each week, you will be sure to find fashion for your lifestyle that will fit, flatter and elevate your style. Yes! Now some of you may be thinking Rockmans caters for an older age bracket, but this isn’t true. They have a great basics range, gorgeous and glamorous dresses and tops in vibrant prints, and fabulous accessories to suit any kind of girl.

The new denim range features four styles to suit every kind of woman. The Straight Leg ($49.99) is perfect for every day wear. Available in indigo, blue and black you’ll be crazy not to grab a pair (or three) for daily life. The Bootleg ($49.99) never goes out of style, and is well suited to those boho chic ladies. Available in indigo and black they are a winter staple. The Slim Leg ($49.99) is one of the most flattering styles of jean you’ll find this season, elongating your pins and smoothing out any lumps and bumps you want to hide. Available in black and indigo you can dress them up or down knowing you’ll feel confident. The Jegging ($49.99) is a bit of an optical illusion – are they just really fitted skinny jeans or leggings? Whatever they are, Rockmans has created the perfect pair of denim for comfort and style! Slightly distressed and featuring a biker vibe, the Jegging is this seasons hottest denim look. Available in blue, black and indigo the Jegging will be on high rotation for me this season!

Let’s talk more about The Jegging (because obviously they are the pair I chose to feature)! I’ve never been one to gravitate towards wearing leggings as pants, but as soon as I slipped on this pair I was sold! The fabric is thick and stretchy, actually feels like soft denim and they slide on easily. I actually showed them to E (who has the same opinion on tights as pants as I do) and she had no idea they were actually a pair of jeggings! I always have issues with skinny jeans not fitting my ankles properly, but with this pair I was so surprised how snug around my ankles they in fact were! The material is light weight, the distressed pattern on the fabric adds a youthful vibe and the indigo hue is very on trend this season. New favourite pants! I actually think I’m going to have to buy all of the colours to get me through Autumn and Winter. Once you find a good thing you have to stick with it!

Now what to wear with your new Rockmans denim? Anything you want! Denim is so versatile there are no rules! Thinking trans seasonal styling I went with a new season sleeveless knit by Lee Cooper for Big W. Easily paired with a jacket when the weather turns or on its own for moderate days, knits look casual cool with a good pair of jeans and they’re practical too! What I love about this knit is it is warm but not too thick for in between weather. The oversized turtle neck is very on trend and the light colouring means I can pair it with as much added colour as I like in the form of accessories and make up. The length of the knit is also a little longer at the back, because we all know the rule about leggings and jeggings – cover that butt!

Now to the little things. I went with a pair of leopard print heels to add a bit of sass and added a simple gold toned necklace to bring the outfit together. Bright lips and statement sunglasses completed the look. This is one outfit I’ll be living in over the next few weeks as it’s perfect for the current temperature. Plus I love it!

If you’re on the hunt for some new season denim at low prices get to Rockmans now. They currently have a deal going that with every pair you buy you receive a free boho style top valued at $39.99 for free! Or if you shop online you’ll receive $10 off your first purchase. Incentive to do a bit of online shopping now?

What will you be wearing this season? Are you a denim addict?

  1. I am convert to jeggings post-baby and swear by them now! As long as they look proper jeanular and not just tights with jean print then I am so in. These look great!

I love the new denim range from Rockmans – I already have 3 pairs. The jeggings would be my favourite, they really are the perfect combination of jean and leggings.

  3. Love them Em! I am busting to slip my pins into my jeggings. I just wish this heat would go away so I could embrace Autumn. Gorgeous photos. Bron x

Love the outfit. Love the pic with you sitting down showing your jeggings fitting so nicely on the ankle !!

  5. They look lovely on you but I must confess I’m most jealous of the fact that you can wear jeans and a chunky knit. It’s still just so hot and humid here! haha!

    • It’s still warm here too, the jeans are thin enough for the inbetweenie days šŸ™‚ it’s only high high 20s over the weekend though so the knit may come out again ha z
