I’ve really jumped on the extreme skin care wagon as of late, probably because I’ve just celebrated a birthday and I’ve realised I’m not getting any younger. This girl isn’t 21 anymore so I’ve really made it my priority to focus on those problem areas and give them the added nourishment (and enhancement) they need! Focusing on a skin care regime has become a huge priority, but I’ve also been trialing a few new make up and hair care products I just had to share with you. Here is what I’ve been loving this month!
Muk 20 in 1 Miracle Treatment
When a product features the word miracle in the name you know you’re onto a good thing, especially when it’s a reputable brand you’ve used in the past and loved (read my previous Muk hair care review here). Muk’s new product is an all in one for hair. No need for twenty different products wasting space in your bathroom when you’ve got this one! The 20 benefits include:
1. Softens and smooths
2. Adds incredible shine
3. Prevents frizz and flyaways
4. Nourishes, dry, damaged hair
5. Helps prevent split ends
6. Reduces hair breakage
7. Protects against premature colour fade
8. Won’t weigh hair down
9. Detangles hair
10. Protects against damage caused from thermal styling tools
11. Helps strengthen hair
12. Adds volume
13. Protects against salt water, chlorine and environmental damage
14. Reduces blow drying time
15. Moisturises the hair
16. Locks out humidity
17. Defines curls
18. Increases hair elasticity
19. Soothes dry scalp
20. Enhances natural body
The product comes out in a cream form that you simply add to damp hair. You don’t need a lot, it actually goes a long way! I’ve used the product almost every time I’ve washed my hair since receiving it in the post, and really noticed the difference. I’m not needing to use my split ends product or my heat styling products any more, just this beauty because it does all! One thing I’ve really noticed is it actually works when it comes to cutting down blow drying time. I have a lot of hair and it normally takes about twenty minutes to dry my mop, but after applying the 20 In 1 it cut my blow drying time to under ten minutes! Amazing. Anything that is going to save me time with beauty gets a huge tick on this end! My hair doesn’t feel weighed down either which I tend to find if I use too many products. The product also leaves your hair smelling fresh and lovely, and as I mentioned the first time I reviewed Muk, hairdressers totally approve of this product due to it’s quality and ingredients. Sephora Pearl Eye Mask
If anything on my face needs regular attention it’s the eye bags. Although a daily dose of iron seems to be working its magic, my eyes still swell up and feel irritated by the end of the day, and they need a good soothing every now and then. Enter Sephora Pearl Eye Mask! Dedicated to perfecting and brightening the delicate skin around the eye, this mask is cheap, very easy to use and does what it says it does. The mask is a sheet mask style, and you simply place the sheets under your eyes and sit back and relax. The size is perfect for under the eye area, and my super sensitive skin had no irritation to the product. Unfortunately we don’t have a Sephora store in Perth, so I picked up this baby and a few of its friends in Singapore on our recent travels, but they are available online. Shop it here.
Sephora Long Lasting Khol Pencil in Intense Black
I don’t wear a lot of eye liner, but when I do I like a long lasting, deep colour to open up my eyes. Sephora’s Khol Pencil is rich in colour, almost black and very sexy! Depending on how dark you like your liner you can wear as little or as much as like by simply pressing down harder with the pencil (it’s a creamy texture) on application. For a night out look and a little extra intensity top it up on your eyes to create something special. The product applies very easily. The pencil is available in more than one colour so there is something for everyone. Shop it here.
Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour Concealer
This product is a bit of a godsend to be honest! It’s one of the only concealer’s I’ve used that actually lasts longer than a few hours! Simply swipe the product over those imperfections, dab it into the skin and away you go! I don’t normally wear a full face of make up and I’ve found this even blends with my favourite BB Cream (more on that here). It’s not too thick or cakey so you can’t even tell you’re wearing it – except your bags are gone! Maybelline has to be one of my favourite “drug store” ranges (I always buy the lipsticks) so I wasn’t surprised at how much I like the concealer. I actually picked up this product at Coles half price last week so if you’re keen to try it head down to the supermarket now. Shop it here.
Anna Sui “Secret Wish” Perfume
Anna Sui’s fragrance range reminds me of dreamy, ethereal worlds filled with cotton candy, clouds and glitter. Whilst overseas last month I picked up a sample pack of some of Sui’s perfumes including Secret Wish. Of the five in the pack this one would have to be my favourite. The fruity, sweet scent isn’t too overwhelming and smells very feminine. The undertone is slightly richer, almost like wandering through a forest. It’s a very well balanced scent and lasts all day! I really love the sample sized bottles, as they fit in even the smallest clutch bags and the bottles are so adorable! This one looks like a fairy! I’ll be sad when the tiny bottle is empty but that’s just an excuse to buy more! I’d definitely purchase Secret Wish in the larger bottle next time as I’ve already fallen in love with the lady like scent! If you like a femme, sweet scent pop down to the chemist and give this one a sniff! Shop it here.
