On the first day of Frocktober my true love sent to me… a frock a little 90s! Happy Frocktober friends! Today is the first day of my favourite month of the year. October is generally a pretty busy and fun filled month anyway (birthdays, celebrations, Spring in the air), but fundraising all month for Ovarian Cancer Research makes it a little extra special! Every day this month I’ll be popping on a frock (or two) for work, play, and the rest (sleeping and gym related activities not included ha). I’ll be fundraising, co-hosting a special Frocktober event in Perth (details coming very soon) and documenting my frock adventures via social media and the blog daily. If you’re not yet following me on Instagram, add me now. I’ll be popping up on Instagram stories in my frocks throughout the month with lots of fun things to share.
Now onto the first frock of my Frocktober month. I had another dress in mind to open the month but Perth’s dodgy weather ruined that plan! Don’t worry, there is plenty of time to showcase all of the frocks. Day one’s frock was kindly gifted by Cockburn Gateway Shopping Cente at their recent Spring/Summer launch. You can find this Luck & Trouble beauty (and many others like it) at Universal Store or online. This mid length floral dress caught my eye immediately. It gave off a nineties vibe and I fell for the dark floral print. I own a lot of floral, but majority of it is light or bright. I knew I had to add this frock to my collection.
To up the nineties vibe of the outfit, I added a denim jacket. This denim jacket was a $4 op shop find from Salvo’s Stores, and I’ve lived in it since I got it. The jacket is also perfect for the odd weather the state is currently experiencing, light enough to throw over a dress without looking too bulky, but warm enough to brave the chilled air! If you don’t have a denim jacket in your wardrobe I promise you it’ll come in very handy for Spring. Plus if you visit your local op shop you might find a bargain like I did! $4 is a steal! I also added a beaded choker by Maria Nicola Jewellery (more on the ten in one necklace here) and simple black loafer flats to complete the look. My Perfect Stranger sunnies were also picked up at Cockburn Gateway at Universal Store so if you’re a fan, get down to Cockburn now or shop them here. With a frock so divine you don’t really need a lot of bling bling. Let the frock speak for itself I say!
This type of outfit is perfect for weekend adventures. The weekend is looking pretty relaxed at this point. Once again E and I have made little to no plans, but something always comes up. I like it that way, it’s a mystery.
