Oh Perth weather, why are you so all over the place? Don’t you know it’s Frocktober. Need a refresh on what Frocktober is all about? Read about what on earth it is here. But if you’re a regular visitor to the blog you’ll know I’m daily blogging in October for Ovarian Cancer Research, frocking up daily and help to raise much needed dollars for the OCRF. If you want to donate to my fundraising page please click here. Every dollar counts!
When I put together today’s look I felt so mod. Like retro glamour, you know? I’m not sure if it was the polka dot wrap dress I picked up at good old Kmart last season, or the divine, bright yellow AVA duster coat I was kindly gifted recently, but whatever it was I felt like I’d just teleported from days gone by! This is a work appropriate look – but of course the jacket was removed walking through the office door. It’s about the frocks this month friends!
Wrap dresses are so good for the workplace. They’re comfortable, flattering for every kind of body type, accentuate the waist and look so feminine. This was one of the first wrap dresses to enter my wardrobe. As soon as I saw it at my favourite store in the world (love you Kmart) I knew it had to be mine. The price tag was another plus – it was under $20! The dress can be worn with or without stockings, giving it versatility, but I decided to pair it with my new coat for something different. I don’t own a lot of black or white clothing, but I can’t pass up a good spot! Kmart is a great place to purchase work wear, because if you’re anything like me you need a lot of choices in your work section, and Kmart’s prices are fabulous. Plus the quality is pretty decent for the price you’re paying. And if your purchases don’t last that long it’s a good excuse to do a little more shopping!
Now onto my accessories. I’ve actually had a few questions about the shoes pictured today. They are actually my trusty Grosby “Mary Jane’s”, found at Big W. They’re the most comfortable work shoes I own and I’ve almost worn them out – time for a new pair! I always assumed Grosby was a more mature label, but I’ve been converted. Give me comfort any day guys! The necklace I’m wearing is a Lovisa piece, a birthday gift from my siblings earlier this year. It’s classic and goes well with most of my wardrobe. I love a good statement piece. You? And the sunnies – eBay! You don’t need a million dollars to put together a great outfit. Perhaps you can pop into Kmart or Big W for your next shopping trip and donate the money you saved to Frocktober! Cheeky, I know. Hahaha.
But seriously, if you want to donate to the OCRF plus head over to my donation page here. There are plenty more dresses coming to the blog this month. Let’s help prevent such a killer disease. Every cent counts.
