I’ve been a bad blogger this week. I promised myself I’d blog daily during Frocktober, but in the lead up to our event held on the weekend I lost track of time. It’s not easy to plan an event whilst working full time (and all the other life things that pop up)! I’ll let you guys know now the event was a complete success, and we raised a small fortune for the OCRF, but I plan on wrapping up the entire event on the blog early next month when the fundraising part of Frocktober has died down. Photographer Sita at Precious S2 Photography took a whole bunch of stunning pictures that deserve an entire post, so I’ll save those and all the info for the near future.
I’ve still been sharing my daily frocks over on Instagram, but I thought I’d do a mini wrap of week three’s lovely dresses over here too for those of you who have been following the journey.
DAY 21: Vintage Floral
I knew this dress looked like grandma’s curtains, but that is why I had to have it! A good, solid vintage floral is totally necessary in ones wardrobe, especially when it fitted like a glove! I don’t own a lot of pink (weird right) but I knew this dress would be perfect for Spring adventures. I added a bright pink, also thrifted waist belt to add some shape to the dress, and an oversized pair of sunnies of course. I found these nude sunnies in a market place in Cambodia and I’ve worn them to death over the last few years. This outfit was perfect for work as the length of the dress is very lady like. More fun than your typical work blouse and skirt combo too!
DAY 22: The Event Gown
Now this beautiful dress isn’t my usual every day style, but this day of Frocktober was actually the day of our event we’d been planning for the last two months. Held at Jonté Designs Studio, I had to wear a Jonté creation, and couldn’t pass up the chance to wear this gorgeous beauty. I’m always drawn to blue, but what I loved most about this frock was the studded detail on the shoulders. So edgy! My makeup on the day was by my good friend and freshly graduated MUA Kat at Kathryn May Makeup Artistry. You can find her on Instagram, I highly recommend her ladies. She was born to do this! Hair by Vignette Art of Hair. I love getting my glam on every now and then, it’s so much fun!
DAY 23: Print Much!
Another vintage gem, the print of this old school muumuu style frock caught my eye whilst thrifting last year and I knew it had to be mine! I believe it was once a long sleeved, to the floor gown as you can see it’s been cut and restitched in the past, but that makes me love it even more. It tells a story! The combination of pink, blue and gold is just stunning and I wore this frock post work on Sunday afternoon. I paired the dress with a pair of tassel earrings from Lovisa (so on trend right now), oversized vintage Bardot earrings and white wedges. The dress speaks for itself really but I wanted to up the ante with the accessories and it worked!
DAY 24: Grandma’s Curtains
Another print that could be mistaken for grandma curtains, I’m obsessed with this AVA frock! I can’t even count the compliments I received at work on this one, and even had a woman stop me leaving the supermarket to compliment me on said frock. I feel like I need to walk around with a bunch of AVA’s business cards in my pocket. And yes, this dress has pockets! I love the versatility of this one – it can be worn to work like I did, or jazzed up for an evening affair. The quality is so luxe, and the print is so eye catching. I can see this one being on high rotation this season.
DAY 25: Work Stripes
Simple and forever on trend, stripes are one of my fashion besties. Waking up to sunshine Tuesday I knew I could get away with this short but sweet bodycon striped babe from Big W. I’ve had it for a while now but it is one dress on high rotation in the Spring/Summer months as it never goes out of style and is perfect for the office. I’ve said it before, but shopping on a budget is perfect for the office, because you don’t want to spend too much for something you’ll just be wearing to work. I paired this dress with leopard print flats (not pictured) as you know I love to get my print clash on!
DAY 26: Play Stripes
One can never have too many stripes in their wardrobe. You should see mine! This simple, comfortable Kmart day dress was perfect for yesterday’s errand running adventures. With a few clouds in the sky early morning I added my denim jacket to the outfit, which surprisingly looked very smart with this collared shirt dress. This dress will probably make my travel suitcase as the lightweight fabric will be perfect for the heat and humidity of Malaysia. The count down to our holiday is on!
There’s still time to donate to Frocktober. Click here. Every dollar counts towards an early detection test for the silent killer.
