Online fashion retailer Birdsnest has just released their brand new AW17 stock and I was kindly asked to share my favourites for the upcoming season from “that bird label‘s” latest collection Conservatory. If I had to describe the new collection in three words I’d say bold, bright and pattern-driven. You’ll find the usual basics, but the new collection is also filled with fabulous colour and eye catching prints to really brighten up the upcoming cooler months. Basically, the latest drop is simply divine!
Inspired by the tranquility and ease felt in classic English gardens, Conservatory takes on a new level of detail with alluring prints that have been hand-picked by customers from a range of unique illustrations. The collection will take you on a journey of natural wonder through a kaleidoscope of winter plants and wildlife. Muted autumnal tones complement classic silhouettes and newly designed shapes alike.
First up, the Holly A-Line Dress in Poppies ($129). A simple a-line shift (one of this seasons popular styles) with a difference, embroidered floral patches add dimension, colour and pizzazz to the simple LBD. Embroidery is a huge trend right now, and I love how it has been incorporated into the frock. I don’t normally wear a lot of neutrals, but there is just enough colour in this gorgeous dress to make me smile. Plus it looks great with a bold lip and fun accessories. I shot these pictures on a 37 degree Perth day (eek) so I couldn’t really layer up my dresses, but moving into Winter the dress will look great paired with a structured jacket and heeled boots. That’s the fun thing about Winter – the layers! Shop it here now.
The Caroline Fit & Flair ($139) will be perfect for work (or play) coming into the cooler seasons. The fabric is lightweight, meaning you can layer up or wear it as is depending on the temperature. The print is so pretty and feminine and I fell for the unique shade of sky blue. There’s nothing really like it in my current wardrobe! A fit and flair style is great for hourglass ladies, drawing in at the waist (your smallest part) and popping out over your hips and bum. It’s flattering and forever on trend. Nude accessories and simple jewellery work well with this frock – let the dress do the talking ladies! Shop it here now.
Finally, my favourite from the new Conservatory collection, the Lily Maxi in Kaleidoscope ($139). How amazing is the print? It’s bold, bright and beautiful, and I love the fit. It draws in at all the right places, following my curves, and makes me feel like a million dollars. I love a good maxi dress in the cooler months, and I love to layer up with a denim jacket for the day and a leather jacket in the evenings. With a dress so eye catching you can keep it simple with your accessories and let the dress do the talking. I chose to keep this baby, it was a hard choice but there was just something about it that made it mine. Shop it here now.
If you’re more of a bohemian queen you’ll love the new AW17 collection from Boho Bird – think floral maxi’s, printed kimonos and structured leather. Shop it here now.
If you’re more of a classic and contemporary kind of lady then Bird Keepers will be right up your alley. Think pussybow blouses in crisp neutrals, basics perfect for layering and toasty knits in gorgeous shades. Shop it here now.
If you’re a curvy lass and want to show off those assets then you’ll love Belle Bird. Think printed wrap dresses for work and play, figure hugging pencil skirts perfect for the office and gorgeous tunics for all times of day. Shop it here now.
Don’t let the impending rain and clouds kill your style buzz. Add some personality to your Autumn and Winter styling by incorporating colour and fun prints into your wardrobe – trust me, there is nothing better than colour.
