With Telstra Perth Fashion Festival only days away, the entire Perth fashion scene is buzzing. Designers are sorting out those last minute dramas, stylists are working their butts off putting together the hottest combinations and bloggers (myself included), fans and fashion freaks are perfecting their outfits and praying the sun comes out. Fashion is on Perth’s brain right now, so I thought this was the perfect time to introduce you to new bespoke Perth designer (who I know will be showing on a catwalk one day in the future) Matthew Avery, the creative director and genius with a sewing machine behind label ERIC&EDWIN. I’ve known Matthew for years (since our university days) and this man has always had a fashion brain. When he wasn’t studying (or we weren’t out on the town) he would be designing and making clothes for all of his friends (and himself) and I envied his creative spirit and drive. Nowadays he’s juggling a full time job and has recently started his label that I know will turn heads. Meet Matthew! …
If you’re looking for somewhere new to discover on your next shopping adventure, Times Square Claremont on Avion Way is the way to go. Nestled in the heart of Claremont, the street is lined by beautiful trees and cobblestones, with future plans to further enhance the strip. TSC kindly invited a bunch of bloggers to #comefindusTSC, a morning of indulging in a tasty morning tea by Cookie Dough Biscuits featuring tasty chocolate brownies and of course cookies, followed by a mini tour of their unique shopping experience. My advice for discovering our own little Times Square? Browse the elegant and feminine gowns at Ae’lkemi, then pop by Cult Status and Wellington Store for something a little more street, followed by a cookie or three at Cookie Dough, and top off the arvo with some fresh blooms by Hannah Etherington Flowers. If you’re feeling flexible Twisting Fish Yoga is ready and waiting, and if you’re needing a massage post yoga the Bayview MediSpa can help you out. You can waste an entire morning on …
I envy those with a steady hand and an eye for detail. Perth makeup artist Emer Lyall ticks both of those boxes. Bringing a touch of colour and style to faces all over Perth, the creative brain loves helping her clients enhance their natural beauty with stunning pops of drama and femininity.
It’s a funny thing when you meet someone in the creative industry who you just click with. The lovely Petra, mastermind and designer behind Perth fashion label AVA is one of those people. She’s bubbly, vivacious and full of beans with design and styling skills to boot, and like myself knows that fashion has to be versatile (yet still stylish) to get you from day to night. That is AVA in a sentence.
If you’re anything like me words can be a powerful motivator. When I’m feeling down or icky a simple inspiring quote can brighten my mood or dull whatever is irking me. They’re also perfect when you’re feeling not so wonderful and need reassurance that everything is going to be okay!
Keep Monday the 2nd of March free fashion loving friends (and don’t worry, it’s a long weekend)! South Perth Community Centre is set to transform into a fashion haven with the first ever Little Market Place pop up market.
How Perth born and bred fashion photographer Grace Robinson finds time to balance her photography business, full time job in visual merchandising, personal life and fairly new collaborative blog The Chronicle Edge astounds me!
“Dear kindred spirit, The making of this tea has been somewhat of an experience, let me tell you about it…”
There is nothing better than a clean slate… literally. Fremantle’s beauty guru Kat of Peaches and Clean has recently rebranded her local skin care business which will now be known as Clean Slate.
