Like It Local: Linzi Carter

Colour brings a little bit of spark to my life. Whether it be a cute, bright print dress or a pop of red lipstick, colour is one of my ultimate tools for happiness. What is not to love about vibrancy and standing out? As the brilliant style blogger Kim-Marie aka Kimba Likes put it…“I firmly believe that colour makes me happy”. Her post How To Add Colour To Your Life is permanently bookmarked and if I’m ever feeling dull or flat it’s my go to. Another lass who knows colour, and lives colour is local Perth artist Linzi Carter.

Brunch Club: Ootong & Lincoln, Fremantle

I’ve always held a soft spot for Fremantle. I spent a lot of time in the hippy suburb in my uni days. I worked at a couple of different restaurants on the cappuccino strip, I (embarrassing) used to frequent Metro’s Freo most weekends and being a uni bum spent many hours wandering the markets with a coffee in hand. These days I live on the other side of the city, so Freo adventures are very special to me as they are (sadly) far and few between.

InBloom: a creative collaboration

When you combine a stunning model, hair and makeup by Perth pro’s Melissa Cook and Rebecca Collins, floaty beautiful fashion styled by Emma Bergmeier-Varian of Dropstitch, out of this world flower crowns by Fox & Rabbit, the mad photography skills of Caitlin Worthington and the bright, playful fashion art of Pippa McManus it’s going to be a feast for the eyes, and soul.

Like It Local: K Gets Organised

I like to think I’m organised, E will disagree. I have a diary, keep my upcoming events and engagements in my phone for easy access, plan my blog posts well in advance and make sure I schedule everything in. Sounds organised, right? Hmm. Unfortunately I “forget” to schedule in time to clean, cook, food shop or do those lovely everyday duties one must complete to lead a simple life. This is where E disagrees with my organisational skills. Funnily enough I find it very easy to organise the best bits of life, and find it equally as easy to brush aside the rest. I need help.

Where do you blog?

If you didn’t know, E and I live in a teeny tiny one bedroom apartment. So small that majority of our furniture lives all over the district, stored with different family members. It’s perfect for us because it is in prime location, we have river views from the driveway and the rent is quite low. Whilst there are so many perks to living “compact” we don’t have a second bedroom to use as an office so ALL of my blogging is completed on the couch, in my bed or wherever I’m sitting when inspiration strikes. But this weekend E and I worked out we had the room in our bedroom for a desk, and you have no idea how ecstatic that made me. I was finally going to have my own blogging corner! I’m pretty easy to please!

Brunch Club: Grass Espresso Bar, West Perth

I’ve been dying to visit Grass Espresso for months, but the opportunity has never arisen until now! According to Urbanspoon the cafe doesn’t open on Saturday (?) so we got up early on a Sunday morning and ventured to West Perth to finally it check out. What we discovered was everything we expected and more, and we were so pleased when we arrived at the cute little grass covered haven.
