It’s only open two days a week. It shares a home with a few other foodie ventures. It’s a concept cafe filled with love and delicious eats. Intrigued? So was I. And that it why I recently had to keep a weekend morning free to visit The Sarapan in Victoria Park.
E and I love mixing up our brunch adventures, and sometimes we enjoy just hopping in the car and driving until somewhere new catches our eye. And that is how we found La Boussole in Manning.
Stepping into Subiaco’s new breakfast spot The Lion & Jaguar is like stepping into an African safari. The new addition to the suburb is nestled in the arcade near the train station, and even though I don’t visit Subiaco too often I couldn’t miss the fluffy animal print stools spilling onto the street from the small, but festive cafe.
I’ve had the same discussion with a few friends lately about how shattering it is when your favourite local neighbourhood cafe becomes way too busy and popular that you can no longer just pop in on a Sunday morning without having to wait for a table. I’m obviously very happy for the cafe owners who deserve all the recognition and customers they are attracting, but I miss my local. My local is now everyone’s local.
Give me sunshine and a good coffee and I’m one happy girl. This particular morning saw V, Lu and I gather in North Perth for a gossip session and a tasty breakfast. I’d been itching to visit the cafe, assuming a coffee shop with the name Cuppa Joe would serve a good cuppa joe. And I was right. Although I hadn’t heard too much about the cafe we were keen to give it a shot, and Urbanspoon’s rating sealed the deal. The bright, stylish eatery is located just off Scarborough Beach Road and although it was a little bit hard to find (thanks GPS), it was well worth the semi-confusing city drive.
I’ve been dying to visit Grass Espresso for months, but the opportunity has never arisen until now! According to Urbanspoon the cafe doesn’t open on Saturday (?) so we got up early on a Sunday morning and ventured to West Perth to finally it check out. What we discovered was everything we expected and more, and we were so pleased when we arrived at the cute little grass covered haven.
Catching up with a friend midweek for brunch is a bit of a luxury. It doesn’t happen too often because I work full time, but when it does I love getting up early and embracing the day.
Let’s start this a little bit graphically. When you’re physically salivating as you bring your coffee cup up to your lips, it’s obviously going to be a goodie. This isn’t my first visit to Hangout Bar N Cafe, and it won’t be the last.
When my friend L suggested a Sunday catch up at Gusto Food in South Perth I was instantly in. Firstly, it is is a two minute drive from home, and secondly they make a gorgeous breakfast. Located on pretty little Angelo Street, Gusto Food boasts a seasonal menu and friendly staff.
Going to the chapel and we’re gonna eat breakfast. Chapels On Whatley that is.
