Three south of the river brunch spots to try this weekend!
Brunch is still my favourite meal of all time and I’ve been out and about every weekend ticking one or two new places off my extremely long wish list. Lately we’ve been hanging out in our old hood, the South Perth area and it’s surrounds, as a crop of cool new spots have popped out of nowhere!
Perth Brunch Club: Nash & Co, Maylands
Maylands used to be “home” for E and I. A few years back we lived down by the river in a super cute townhouse and we frequented the Eighth Avenue and Whatley Crescent brunch spots on the regular.
Perth Brunch Club: Betty & Dave’s, Inglewood
I don’t know who Betty and Dave are, but I like them. And I like their new addition to Inglewood’s growing list of cute brunch spots. Betty & Dave’s is a bit of a retro style diner sporting colourful interiors, a healthy menu and the coolest bright pink coffee machine you ever did see.
Perth Brunch Club: Holly Raye’s, Bassendean
I’ll admit I’ve been stalking Holly Raye’s Cafe on Instagram since the early building stages and couldn’t wait to visit the new Bassendean hang out. We don’t visit the suburb very often but it was worth the wait and short trip up the highway. What a stunning little spot.
Brunch Club: Mary Street Bakery, Mount Lawley
Although Mary Street Bakery hasn’t been around for as long as some of Mount Lawley’s breakfast spots, it has pretty much become a Beaufort Street landmark in the foodie stakes.
Brunch Club: Cuppa Joe, North Perth
Give me sunshine and a good coffee and I’m one happy girl. This particular morning saw V, Lu and I gather in North Perth for a gossip session and a tasty breakfast. I’d been itching to visit the cafe, assuming a coffee shop with the name Cuppa Joe would serve a good cuppa joe. And I was right. Although I hadn’t heard too much about the cafe we were keen to give it a shot, and Urbanspoon’s rating sealed the deal. The bright, stylish eatery is located just off Scarborough Beach Road and although it was a little bit hard to find (thanks GPS), it was well worth the semi-confusing city drive.
