Perth Brunch Club: Three new(ish) spots to check out this weekend

This weekend is set to be another crazy busy ride for me (family dinner, Rottnest trip, hangs with mates, Bloggers Bloom Together event), but even at the busiest of times, you still have to eat, right? Correct. I’ve been on my usual foodie adventures as of late, zipping around from suburb to suburb, trying the coolest new spots (and my usual favourites), meeting up with friends, spending time with my E, all over a strong coffee and plates of delicious treats. Food brings people together, and if your Zomato wish list is as long as mine you better get started this weekend. Here are three stand out places I’ve been frequenting as of late.

Perth Brunch Club: Kettle Cafe, Lathlain

Kettle Cafe is a hip little eatery in the suburbs that would fit in perfectly in a burb like Vic Park or Mount Lawley. Thankfully it’s not though, and is only a five minute drive from home. Yay. Totally dog friendly (I think we counted six the morning we were there) and with the option to sit in or outside, it’s a super cute spot for a bite to eat. Set across the road from a park, the menu is packed with healthy eats, exotic specials and the usual breakfast fare.

Brunch Club Perth: July/August Breakfast Favourites

Life has just been so insanely busy lately I haven’t had much of a chance to dine out in true food reviewer form. I know right? Blogger blasphemy! I love a good cafe visit, but every time I have dined out recently it has been an eat and run moment. Or a catch up with friends moment. Or a “I am so hungry I can’t be bothered photographing my food until it’s cold” moment. No staged pictures, no “styling” the table. Just good old fashioned nomming. But I thought I’d share a few spots I’ve recently visited (in non blogger style).

Brunch Club Perth: Tabella, Fremantle

Booking for a group of seven for breakfast is always a mission. Firstly, barely any places book for brekky these days. It’s simply a first in best dressed situation, but with a table of seven it’s generally a longer wait regardless. Secondly, so many cafes are the size of a shoe box of late that seven people wouldn’t even fit in the space! So finding a crowd pleasing option to suit seven felt like a bit of a mission a few weeks back, but the mission was a total success when we discovered the slick and sexy Tabella. Perched near Fremantle cafe royalty Gino’s, Tabella is an Italian foodie dream. Serving good honest meals from dawn till dusk, we were lucky to book a table (via Dimmi) for our large party without any trouble. And it was a good table. In fact we ended up seated by the large open windows facing the main strip, providing us with the perfect view of the terrace and all its early morning movement. A perfect place to chat, …

Brunch Club: George Street Cafe and Patisserie, Kensington

There’s a new kid on the block, and you can call him George. Or if you want a more official name, George Street Cafe and Patisserie will do. Nestled in a quiet street in Kensington the uber cute spot is the perfect location for food and chats in the sunshine, so what did we do? Just that. E and I visited George Street a few weeks back on a rare morning off together and let me tell you, it’s the perfect spot for a brunch date!

Brunch Club: Tarts Cafe, Northbridge

A friends birthday is the perfect excuse to gather the troops and discover a new (to us anyway) cafe! Last weekend saw my lovely friend F celebrate another birthday, in style of course, and the first stop on “The Day Of F” was a lovely foodie gathering at Northbridge’s Tarts Cafe. With an extensive menu and reviews to boot it was the perfect spot for celebration.
