What I Wore: Frocktober Week 2

I can’t believe we are half way through Frocktober already! Update time… My skin is more tan already, I’ve finally gotten over shaving my legs every day (smooth is so much better than spikes) and I’ve already raised over $320 for Ovarian Cancer research! There is still time to donate guys. Did you know that Ovarian Cancer is known as the silent killer and is usually diagnosed in the advanced stages when it is extremely hard to treat and almost impossible to cure. Scary hey? But if you guys donate today you’ll be contributing to much needed research, and hopefully one day we will be able to catch the silent killer and it’ll be silent no more. Now on to this weeks frock haul. To see last weeks looks click here. DAY 7 – Vintage Midi On Wednesday’s we wear floral. Not pink, you won’t see me in a lot of pink. I’m girly, but not that girly! This floral vintage dress was discovered at an op shop a few months back and I wear …

What I Wore: Frocktober Week 1

If you follow my Instagram account you would have noticed my feed has been filled with a handful of selfies in frocks. Every single day of the week. Why? Because October is actually Frocktober, the biggest fundraiser for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. Women from all over the country don frocks in support of the charity, creating fundraising pages for their family, friends and internet buddies to donate. Wearing a frock every day isn’t as easy as you may think! Especially since the weather has been temperamental in Perth and majority of my days are spent at work so I need to be work appropriate too! Plus I’ve had to shave my legs daily and get up early to take a picture. Haha, but I don’t mind because the cause is so important, especially as women’s cancer unfortunately runs in my family and if we can band together and raise money for much needed research, hopefully one day medical professionals will know more about the silent killer. Here’s my first week of Frocktober goodness. DAY …

Frocktober 2015

October is fast approaching (I know right, where did the year go), and from now on the month will no longer be known as its given name. Because October is Frocktober month. Frocktober raises funds and awareness for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. The original Frocktober challenge is to wear a dress every day for the month of October, but you can mix it up any way you like! Here’s a little bit of info from the Frocktober website. Frocktober raises funds and awareness for ovarian cancer research, through dress-related fun! In the month of October, we encourage people all over Australia to wear frocks, make frocks, draw frocks, remember frocks and hold frock-related events in the name of this important cause. There is currently no early detection test for ovarian cancer. This Frocktober is your chance to change this story. Instead of buying something new this Frocktober, we want you to get creative. Frocktober is about re-finding something old, borrowing from friends and family, or discovering something at the op shop. It’s a Frockin’ good …

EVENT: Bird On A Wire High Tea for ChildWise

I don’t know if you know much about Perth’s Colosoul Group, but you will now. The local arts initiative is made up of volunteers from all over WA and is well known for supporting the Perth youth creative community. Social responsibility, cultural and community development are at the core of the Colosoul Group’s values, building and generating energy, awareness and resources towards improving the community.

Frocktober 2014 – it’s a wrap!

It’s a wrap! Frocktober is over and as lovely as it was to raise awareness for ovarian cancer and get dolled up daily I can’t wait to get back into my jeans! Being the cheeky girl I am I missed the final day of Frocktober due to being a little busy getting my wisdom teeth removed, so thirty days of dresses it was and as soon as my head is back to normal and my face has gone down I’ll start doing the calculations for the donations heading to KimbaLikes and The Fashionable Mum.

Frocktober 2014

If you follow my Instagram you’ll notice I’ve been donning the dresses over the last few days because I’ve decided to play along with Frocktober. Thirty one days, thirty one dresses (and no outfit repeating, I have over seventy frocks)! Rain, hail or shine. All the in the name of promoting awareness and dollars for ovarian cancer research.
