And like that, it was November! This year has seriously flown by. I feel like as I’m getting older (gah) life isn’t slowing down at all. In fact, I can still remember exactly how I celebrated Christmas last year. Every single moment of it. If time wants to slow down a little I’d really appreciate it.
“Spring is the time of plans and projects…”
With a new month upon us and a new season (hi Spring!) I thought it was time to check in with everyone and give you guys a mini update on some of the facets of my life. I’ve been running around like a headless chook for the last few weeks and I’m finally well and truly out of Winter hibernation mode. Yay! Bring on sunshine and festivities, I’m ready!
Whilst taking a break from the blog I’ve been spending a lot of time doing things for me. Yes, the blog is my thing, but it does become quite stressful and tiring at times, especially when you push yourself to stick to a schedule that can be sometimes impossible, especially when your work schedule changes every week, sometimes at the last minute. I’ll admit I was putting a lot of pressure on myself to have three posts out per week.
Suffering from the midweek blues? Dreaming of a holiday to a far off location but don’t have the funds or time off work to do so? Don’t worry, there is a simple way to beat the blues from the comfort of your own home. By following amazing travellers on Snapchat of course! I’m Snap obsessed, but as well as following multiple fashion bloggers and people I know in Perth, I also follow a bunch of people always on the move around the world so it almost feels like I too am experiencing the beauty of travel.
Today is my Saturday. I’m working Sunday evening which means technically I have an almost long weekend with Friday off. It’s one thing I love about shift work. Bonus time for fun things! And hanging out with my Nanna this morning for a coffee and some brunch. And taking time to sit back and take stock, one of my favourite things to do every now and then to just check in with where I’m at and what I’m prioritising at the time.
It feels good to be writing again. Last week was one of those weeks when I felt like I couldn’t even jot a sentence down. My mind wasn’t on the blog.
“Here we are now, entertain us…”
Winter is coming! Well, it is in Perth anyway! The mornings have been colder, the sun is taking a lot longer to rise and I’ve found myself dressing a lot warmer than I have been recently. Boo! There are a few things I like about Winter, including rain on the roof at night, puddles and whipping out the thicker doona, but that’s pretty much it! I struggle to find motivation in the colder months, especially when it comes to putting together work outfits. Summer is so much simpler – pop on a dress and away you go. But in the cooler months you have to really put together your looks and consider the possible downpours and icy winds you may encounter! I’ve put together this post sharing my Autumn and Winter work wear essentials for those of you like me who struggle with their “semi-corporate” wardrobe as soon as the temperature plummets.
Hi friends! It’s been a while since I’ve checked in. Apologies on this end – the last few weeks have been crazy town since we got back from our trip to Singapore in March. Since then the renovations have continued on the house and I’ve started a new job part time! Plus the other 85433 things I get up to weekly!
