Another weekend on the way in, another excuse to get in the car, chuck on the tunes and head out for breakfast (or brunch if you prefer a bit of a sleep in)!
With weekend shifts aplenty at work as of late my brunch game has been failing! Scandalous, I know. I’ve self dubbed myself the Queen of Brunch and it’s one title I need to keep, hahaha. In the last few weeks I’ve been brunching at every chance and here are a few standouts for you guys to check out on your next brunch adventure. Be warned, drool worthy pictures ahead!
Brunch is still my favourite meal of all time and I’ve been out and about every weekend ticking one or two new places off my extremely long wish list. Lately we’ve been hanging out in our old hood, the South Perth area and it’s surrounds, as a crop of cool new spots have popped out of nowhere!
Looking for a Perth cafe and restaurant with a water view but don’t want to drive all the way to the beach? Claisebrook Lake in East Perth is an inner city gem with a stunning view, right in the middle of our pretty city. It’s one of those perfect brunch locations that caters for every kind of foodie, with cafes, burger bars, pubs and more all in one location, and on this particular visit to the beautiful spot we couldn’t pass up trying The Partisan.
I’ll admit I’ve been stalking Holly Raye’s Cafe on Instagram since the early building stages and couldn’t wait to visit the new Bassendean hang out. We don’t visit the suburb very often but it was worth the wait and short trip up the highway. What a stunning little spot.
Life has just been so insanely busy lately I haven’t had much of a chance to dine out in true food reviewer form. I know right? Blogger blasphemy! I love a good cafe visit, but every time I have dined out recently it has been an eat and run moment. Or a catch up with friends moment. Or a “I am so hungry I can’t be bothered photographing my food until it’s cold” moment. No staged pictures, no “styling” the table. Just good old fashioned nomming. But I thought I’d share a few spots I’ve recently visited (in non blogger style).
