14+ Days | Life Update

I’m writing this update from our new home friends. If you read my last life update my E was on the hunt for a new place, and here we are six weeks later in our “forever home”. What a whirlwind that was. More house stuff in a moment, but how have you all been lately? What is new? How beautiful is the sunshine? I’ve been pretty damn happy. A change is as good as a holiday, and being in our own home really is better than a holiday. E’s become an instant DIY queen. I don’t think I could count the amount of times we’ve visited Bunnings in the last couple of weeks. I even went alone to pick up a few things E had forgotten. Can I just say something – I can’t stand anything DIY (unless it’s beauty or jewellery making), building or handy man-ing. I do enjoy interior decorating and shopping for home wares, but that is as far as it goes on my end. E’s a machine though, we’ve only been …

What kind of friend are you?

I’ve been a naughty friend lately. Not in the sense of being mean and nasty to my friends, but in the sense of letting life snatch me up and the roller coster whirl wind of blog life and other things has dragged me away from my normal routine and I miss my friends. Flicking through my phone lately more than one close friend and I have tried to plan a coffee date or a brunch date and it just hasn’t happened. Hey life, slow down. I miss my mates!  This got me thinking about friendship in general. People have people in their lives for different reasons. To inspire them. To better them as a person. To pick them up. To laugh with. If they need an ear. I’ve put together a list of the kinds of friendships you come across in life. From the good to the not so perfect. What kind of friend are you?  1. The BFF Simple really. That one person who you can trust with anything, rely on to be there anytime …

14+ DAYS | Life Update

Hello! I feel like I haven’t posted a life update in a while! I guess I was too busy out and about doing things so lots to update you on. First things first… Winter is over! Weeeee! This makes me SO excited as I’ve already noticed the days are getting longer, the air is fresher and I’ve definitely had more of a spring in my step (see what I did there, haha). Pretty soon it’ll be time to pack away the jeans and coats, but on the note of packing our entire house will be packed up soon because my E is looking to buy a house! Woop woop. As draining as house hunting has been over the past few months we’ve found a few gems worth considering so guaranteed our lives will be in boxes in the near future. Watch this space! I can’t wait to get into a space where we can put up a picture frame without having to inform a land lord, we can have a puppy and no more rent …

Taking five in MuiNe

I’ll tell you a secret. We never go to the beach at home. As much as I love it, my E is terrified of sharks. And I mean terrified. Funny thing is she’ll sit back and watch Shark Week on Discovery Channel every year, feeding her fear, and I suffer with lack of beach visits. The realities of being in a relationship, haha. But when we arrived in resort town MuiNe on the fourth leg of our Vietnam holiday she couldn’t resist the calm waters of the Pacific Ocean. Score!

Taking Stock: The Winter Edition

Let the rain fall down! As you may have heard me mention in the past I’m not a huge fan of Winter. Especially when we’ve only recently returned from a tropical vacation overseas in Vietnam and Cambodia where the weather was epic. It was so great to escape the initial few throws of Winter, but were hit full force when we returned. So much so I had to get straight to the shops on my return to pick up some more warm clothes. Any excuse to go shopping.

Rainbow of thoughts.

About 80% of my Facebook friends are currently sporting a rainbow stained profile picture in support of equal marriage rights. That 80% are a mixture of both gay and straight people, some married, some single, some over 30, some under. People from all different walks of life, but share one thing in common – they all believe in the right to live equally. As I scrolled through my feed over the weekend, colour is basically all I saw, and it was so beautiful to see the amount of support floating around. I know some of you may disagree, but the US taking the step and breaking down barriers is a huge leap for human rights. Not just gay rights, human rights. Because at the end of the day we are all the same. I’m certainly no expert when it comes to politics and religion but I know love, and as I said on my personal Facebook page this week if I ever want to start planning a wedding it is already going to be an …

Chicks Who Rock!

Women can be pretty amazing. I am so lucky to have a wonderful bunch around me, but it isn’t just those is my immediate circle that inspire me and push me to achieve. This isn’t a serious post about who has inspired me to become a better person or anything, because I can only credit my family and friends (and living) for that, this is a bit of a short and sweet fan girl post about celebs and people in the lime light who I draw from in my creative path, those who I feel can help change the world or who have already influenced the way I think about stuff. Basically a list of chicks who rock.

14 DAYS

Hi March. I’m not sure if I’m happy or sad to see you. Mixed emotions really. It’s nice to be getting into Autumn (even though we’re still enjoying the Summer sunshine), and March is technically closer to my birthday (April baby right here), but I don’t know where last month went! What a blur! I’m hoping the rest of the year will slow right down… Fingers crossed.
