With a new month upon us and a new season (hi Spring!) I thought it was time to check in with everyone and give you guys a mini update on some of the facets of my life. I’ve been running around like a headless chook for the last few weeks and I’m finally well and truly out of Winter hibernation mode. Yay! Bring on sunshine and festivities, I’m ready!
Suffering from the midweek blues? Dreaming of a holiday to a far off location but don’t have the funds or time off work to do so? Don’t worry, there is a simple way to beat the blues from the comfort of your own home. By following amazing travellers on Snapchat of course! I’m Snap obsessed, but as well as following multiple fashion bloggers and people I know in Perth, I also follow a bunch of people always on the move around the world so it almost feels like I too am experiencing the beauty of travel.
Happy Friday! And the last Friday of the month, GAH! They say time goes faster as you get older but this is ridiculous guys. Christmas felt like yesterday!
Whether it be a big thing or little thing, life tends to knock you around a bit every now and then. Shake you up. Make you think about the aspects of your day to day proceedings and puzzle you. Ideas are formed, questions to yourself are raised. The over thinking begins, perhaps a bit of self doubt.
I’ve just returned home from a week away with friends (and E of course) in the beautiful lower south west of Western Australia. Denmark to be exact. The bush meets beach town is about a five hour drive from Perth, and boasts coastal vibes with a small country town feel. It’s quiet and relaxed, with something for everyone.
The truth is we live a world where everything is documented these days. From breakfast goodness to what your wearing that day, to live streaming of exactly what is happening via applications like Snapchat and Periscope. Smart phones make it so simple to capture said moments, and it’s easier than ever to share them with friends and family. But what happens to those pictures once they’ve fallen off your Instagram feed or you’ve updated your profile picture on Facebook? They’re basically gone into the abyss of a million and one pictures. Granted I don’t need to remember exactly what I ate for breakfast on April 13 2013, but some photographs should stick around. The important memories, the travel snaps (bad hair and all), the hangs with friends, the birthdays, the special moments. In the past it was such an exciting moment to take your camera film to be developed. You’d flick through those pictures time and time again, display them in your home. They were seen, and discussed, and remembered as they should be. And …
Hello! I feel like I haven’t posted a life update in a while! I guess I was too busy out and about doing things so lots to update you on. First things first… Winter is over! Weeeee! This makes me SO excited as I’ve already noticed the days are getting longer, the air is fresher and I’ve definitely had more of a spring in my step (see what I did there, haha). Pretty soon it’ll be time to pack away the jeans and coats, but on the note of packing our entire house will be packed up soon because my E is looking to buy a house! Woop woop. As draining as house hunting has been over the past few months we’ve found a few gems worth considering so guaranteed our lives will be in boxes in the near future. Watch this space! I can’t wait to get into a space where we can put up a picture frame without having to inform a land lord, we can have a puppy and no more rent …
Let the rain fall down! As you may have heard me mention in the past I’m not a huge fan of Winter. Especially when we’ve only recently returned from a tropical vacation overseas in Vietnam and Cambodia where the weather was epic. It was so great to escape the initial few throws of Winter, but were hit full force when we returned. So much so I had to get straight to the shops on my return to pick up some more warm clothes. Any excuse to go shopping.
There is nothing wrong with treating yourself, and that is precisely what E and I did when we visited the beach capital of Vietnam, Nha Trang. A short bus trip down the mountain from Dalat (read about my experience here) and nothing like the craziness of Ho Chi Minh City (my thoughts here), the small city was a piece of luxe paradise. So why not make the most of it? When in Rome they say.
